Other designers depend on ready-made templates, but I create a bespoke ‘look and feel’ that uniquely represents your brand. Your website requirements will change over time, so I also make myself available for as long as you need to help keep it looking fresh.

Websites are more than just collections of information; they can be highly interactive experiences, with buttons, tabs, links, contact forms, date selectors, and filtered directories. I help you to understand your customer’s journey, and how to assist them with all the tools they need to navigate a simple and logical route through the site.

Attracting first-timers is only half the story. You want to keep your visitors coming back and – critically – recommending your site to other users. But before you spend a lot of money, did you know that can do a lot of this yourself, for example by keeping a regular news blog or setting up an automated newsletter? We make your website work for you.
Why WordPress?
WordPress is the world leader in website platforms. I recommend it over other systems for four main reasons. Firstly, it’s highly flexible and integrates with numerous tools, including, for example, booking calendars, maps, and e-shops. Second, it’s always kept updated and rarely breaks down. Third, if you need to hire someone to maintain your site, they are very likely to have had previous experience with WordPress. Last but not least, the basic software is free. You only pay for hosting, a domain name, and my services.

I’m Alex. Originally from Britain, I live and work in the Czech Republic. My experience in education, media and business has given me a keen understanding of the benefits of clear communication, and an appreciation of the combined power of digital and expert content.

SERVICES
Free Audit
If you have an existing site, I’ll send you a report on its structure, content and design, its loading speed and search engine ranking. The report is free of charge whether you choose to engage my services or not.
Hosting and Domains
I can help you set up an address (or domain name) and a hosting service where your website will be stored. Your domain comes with at least one free email address, which I can help you to integrate with your current email inbox.
Optional Migration
I can advise on moving your present website to a new hosting service or domain. I can also migrate your site from Wix or Squarespace to WordPress. I can add services to your existing site, or integrate an e-shop using Woo Commerce.
Maintenance
All websites require regular tuning to keep them up-to-date and working smoothly. This is equally true whether your website has been built by us or someone else. I offer competitive monthly, quarterly or yearly rates to keep your site running without problems.
Search engine OPTIMIZATION
I take great care to optimize your site so that it performs strongly in search engines. I show all my clients how to use Google Search Console to discover the key search terms their visitors use, and to monitor search ranking performance over time.
Web Development
Once we have an idea of your website’s purpose and content, I can start building functional and organizational elements such as menus, forms and calls-to-action. If you want to update the site yourself, I offer full training in WordPress. If you prefer a different CMS, just let me know.
Web Design
Ease of navigation and an attractive interface are essential for winning and retaining visitors. I can recommend themes, color-schemes and fonts appropriate to your brand. Our sites are responsive to varying screen-sizes, including mobile. And as an add-on, I can provide logos or logotypes that integrate into your website and email.
Integrated Tools
Websites may look simple on the outside but they can integrate any number of useful tools: audio and video files, document downloads, context-based questionnaires, e-commerce shopfronts, live chat, maps, Mailerlite (or other newsletter services), filtered directories, and other tools.
Security and Privacy
I make sure that your website is properly prepared for the requirements of privacy laws such as GDPR. I also ensure that it’s properly protected with SSL certification (HTTPS). Finally I also recommend a number of ways to guard against hacking or malicious actors.
Social media
I encourage you to promote your website via social media, especially LinkedIn, Threads, Instagram and Facebook. I can show you simple ways to spread the word, and I also offer focused social media content as an add-on service at competitive rates.
